Clothing for a Cause

clothing for a cause

THANK YOU for helping us continue to support our local community!

Clothing for a Cause is a unique program created to give back to the wonderful communities who have supported us throughout our many years in business. By partnering with clothing recycler Planet Aid, we're able to receive payment for the items we are unable to sell in our stores.

The best part about this program is YOU. Our customers nominate and vote for their favorite organizations to whom we send our donations. Once a calendar year, this voting takes place, and we form a relationship with a new organization.

The We Care Project (2017)

Once a month, the We Care Project distribution provides necessary household items, food, and clothes for those in need within their community, serving around 130 families a month.

Foster Closet of Michigan (2016)

This organization provides personal items to begin the process of rebuilding a foster child's self-esteem and provides them with belongings they can call their own. Sometimes, needs are not always able to be met through government services - Foster Closet of Michigan fills in the gaps, allowing foster parents to use their funds saved to help their children adapt to their new home.

AAA Pregnancy Resource Center (2015)

This organization exists to offer care and support to those who are facing an unplanned pregnancy and to those who are sexually active outside of marriage. They are a Christian organization with trained client associates who provide free pregnancy tests, confidential peer counseling, referrals, material goods and post-abortion counseling.

MiMoz Clothez (2014)

This non-profit organization distributes clothes to school-aged kids in the area who need them.

Detroit Area Diaper Bank (2013)

The Detroit Area Diaper Bank was a 501c3 charity that provided diapers to nonprofit organizations in Southeast Michigan from 2009-2014. No federal assistance programs pay for or provide diapers, not WIC, Food Stamps or Medicare. Diapers are a huge hole in the "safety net" for our youngest and oldest neighbors in need. Please continue to donate and make a difference with diapers in Metro Detroit!
